Commodore 6567/6569 video chip luminance levels

All units are in mV.

All measurements were made on the same computer (2nd revision board
with 300ns DRAMs) with the same oscilloscope (40MHz analog, using
2s/div), measured from the luminance output on the video connector
without any other load connected to it. The measurements were
performed in one session by Marko Mkel on 19th of December 1996.

The black level was only measured when the screen was all black. The
black level at start and end of line changes when the colour changes.

Here's how the luminance signal looks on the oscilloscope:

. burst (2 pixels white at the very left of screen)

------- colour intensity level (depends on the colour)

--- ------ black level
   ----- hsync

The hsync takes 5 cycles on all chips I measured. Likewise, the black
period at end of line is 3 cycles long, and it's 6 cycles at beginning
of a new line, right after the hsync.

At the beginning of hsync, there's a negative peak, because the signal
comes down from the black level. On the two 6567 chips I measured,
the sync signal was so noisy that this peak fitted in the noise interval.

I don't know if burst is the right term for that white strip at the very
left of the screen. Maybe it's just the end-of-hsync signal.
